Taiwan to See Foreign Investment Growth in 2011: CEPD Chief

Christina Lui, the minister of the Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) stated on Tuesday that foreign investment in Taiwan will continue to grow at a fast rate this year. Foreign investment in Taiwan saw a growth of 33 percent last year and the government is currently circling the world aggressively to drum up interest in putting money into the country.
Lui spoke at a coordination meeting for the 2010-11 position papers for the European Chamber of Commerce Taipei (ECCT) and stated that the CEPD has visited many countries including India and Singapore to solicit investment. The council also planned to tour the US, Europe and Japan later this year to see Taiwan as an investment target, but due to the earthquake in Japan the trip will be postponed.
